I have been asked to run a polygraph exam on a subject that has only one arm. Has anyone experienced any problems with attaching both cardio cuff and GSR to the same arm? Any ideas on alternative ways? Thanks in advance!

I would place the GSR on the fingers, the cardio on the leg. Cardio and GSR on the same arm is not advised. You will in most cases dampen out GSR Activity

Kipplow;

I know of no specific reason 'why' GSR senors cannot be placed on the same arm as the blood pressure cuff. In fact,I seem to recall Ed Gelb saying he prefers to do so. As it is more difficult to manipulate the GSR sensors by finger movements or pressing against the senors without it being reflected in the BP trace line. I have utilized both BP cuff/GSR on the same arm in the past with no significant impact on the tracings.

I remember from my school that it was permissible to use GSR and cuff on the same arm as the topic of a one armed person was mentioned. It was also bought up about a person having no arms in which case the leg was used. I have also used the GSR/cuff on the same arm with excellent results. I have more problems with the room temp than anything else affecting GSR.
